Olivia graduated from CSUEB with a Master of Science in Accountancy. When either working as a staff accountant or heading the accounting department of a property management company prior to joining Hackbright Academy, she thoroughly enjoyed problem solving, streamlining processes and automating recurring tasks, which ultimately piqued her interest in programming. As a lifelong learner, she fell in love with how technology is always changing and evolving, which not only keeps her motivated but also creates an opportunity for her to learn and grow more. She’s excited to combine her strong work ethics and enthusiasm for problem solving to continue expanding software’s reach to improve communities fundamentally.

PROJECT
INVESTABLE is a platform for rental property investors. It provides users with necessary tools to make a quick decision whether a rental property is a good investment. Ultimately it's a platform to share the passion for rental property investing. Users can analyze a property, save property data, stay updated with related news and share their knowledge through the Investable community dashboard.
WORK EXPERIENCE
Vesta Asset Management, San Francisco, CA
- Led the accounting department including one staff accountant and AP and AR specialists
- Created new workflows, prepared and reviewed 400 financials (over 1,100 units) including providing flux analysis to investors/owners
- Interviewed and hired contractors and staff accountants for the accounting department
- Self-taught new software and delivered financials immediately upon joining the team
Mosser Companies, San Francisco, CA
- Created work templates to automate recurring accounting tasks in Microsoft Excel
- Managed all accrual and cash basis accounting for three multifamily portfolios of 20 properties (450 units)
- Processed full cycle accounting month end close: accruing expenses, prepared financials
